“We have discussed intensively how to put a stop to the degradation of the international order. From this, the idea of an ‘Alliance for Multilateralism’ has emerged. What we have in mind is a network of partners who advocate for the preservation and further development of the rule-based order and who defend multilateralism. Multilateralism means investing in an order even if I don’t benefit from it today – but in the knowledge that I can trust in this order if I am ever dependent on it myself. Our alliance is not aimed against anyone, but it fights for collective solutions to global problems.”
