ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF SOCIAL WORK Possible appointment as MSW Program Director

Fort Hays State University and the Department of Social Work is accepting applications for a tenure track, Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work. The selected candidate will be primarily dedicated to the Masters of Social Work Program (clinical specialization). An appointment as the MSW Program Director may also be available for the candidate with appropriate qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

Nine-month tenure track position to include annual required teaching load equivalent to 24 credit hours; advising students; providing services to the community, the profession, the department, the college, and the university; and engaging in scholarly activities. If a candidate is chosen for an appointment as the MSW Program Director, the position will include 50% release time for program administration as well as additional salary for summer duties.

Required Qualifications:

A doctorate in Social Work or a related field and a Masters of Social Work with least five years postMSW social work practice is required. Commitments to diversity and culturally competent education are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with an extensive history in, and robust knowledge of clinical social work practice are strongly preferred. Teaching experience at a four-year institution of higher education and online teaching experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with CSWE accreditation and ten or more years of post-MSW experience. Interest in rural practice is desirable. Candidates seeking an appointment as the MSW Program Director would ideally be qualified for an appointment as Associate Professor. Candidates who can bring a diversity of backgrounds and experiences to our community are especially encouraged to apply.

Position begins August 2020. Priority deadline of applications will be January 15, 2020 and review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
