Tenure-track position in Literary Studies (open rank), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
The Department of Foreign Literatures and Linguistics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer-Sheva, Israel) invites applications for a tenure-track position in literature (open rank) commencing in October 2019. We seek candidates who specialize in British Literature (especially pre-1800 English literature); but candidates specializing in Poetry and Poetics (British or American) are also encouraged to apply.
We are a research-intensive department with undergraduate and graduate programs in literature and linguistics (all taught entirely in English). In addition to teaching, faculty members engage in research, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the intellectual and administrative activity in the Department and the University. Although teaching and research are conducted in English, a working knowledge of Hebrew is required to integrate successfully into the University.
Candidates with relevant teaching experience and a strong publication record should submit a cover letter; a CV; a statement of teaching interests; a statement of research interests; a writing sample; and the names and contact information of four referees. Candidates must hold a PhD by the time they take up the position.
Please send inquiries and applications to Prof. Eitan Bar-Yosef, Chair, Department of Foreign Literatures and Linguistics, firstname.lastname@example.org by August 20, 2018. Interviews will take place between November 2018 and January 2019.
The appointment will be based on the candidate’s qualifications as well as the needs of the Department, pending administrative and budgetary approval.
