Postdoctoral Fellowship in History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism
The University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism with the appointment scheduled to begin on August 1, 2018. This full-time position is for a period of six years, with a review after two years.
Your position
The position is part of the Professorship in the History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism (Prof. Kenny Cupers), located within the university’s chair of Urban Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. While the fellow will be responsible for instruction and student advising, primary emphasis is on research.

Your profile
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in architectural history, urban history, or a related field. A strong research agenda with attention to the theoretical position of contemporary scholarship is desired, as is fieldwork experience in the Global South. Candidates should feel comfortable working on team projects and advise students in urban studies.
