The WGST Department is committed to hearing and amplifying the voices of the marginalized, interrogating and challenging heteropatriarchal white supremacy in all its manifestations, and working, as the UNC mission statement declares, “to improve society and to help solve the world’s greatest problems.” Duties will include teaching, research, and service. The selected candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester at all levels of our curriculum, publish actively, and offer service to the Department/University and the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies.
The qualified applicant will have a PhD in hand by July 1, 2022, and will demonstrate a promise of excellence and innovation in teaching and research, as well as experience working with diverse students. We seek candidates who hold a PhD in History or a related discipline with a focus on Women’s and Gender Studies and Jewish History and Culture.
