Tenure track position in sociology or anthropology
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Bar Ilan University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, with an anticipated start date of October 1, 2019, pending budgetary approval.
We welcome applications from all sociological and anthropological subfields, but especially encourage applicants with specialization in (1) Palestinian-Israeli society;
(2) anthropology; (3) organizations; or (4) big data analysis.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in sociology or anthropology, an excellent research and publication record including at least three publications in prestigious journals, and a promising future program of research. A postdoctoral experience is an advantage. Applicants with insufficient publications are encouraged to defer their candidacy. New international faculty are expected to be able to teach in Hebrew within a year.
The successful applicant will join a growing and vibrant department ranked by Shanghai Ranking among the 100 top sociology departments, with a large body of graduate students, innovative research, and collegial atmosphere.

For primary consideration, all application materials must be received by September 1, 2018. All applications will undergo an initial screening by the search committee. Referees will be invited to send letters of recommendation for those candidates who passed the initial screening. Job talks for short-listed candidates are expected in November 2018.
