Yitzhak (Tzahi) Blau Watering Seeds in the Intermediate Days of the Holiday: The History of a Mishnaic Dispute (MQ 1:3) (Heb.)

Eliyahu Rosenfeld “A man who showed no mercy to his son and daughter, how could he show mercy to me?” Between Didacticism and Struggle in the Story of Rabbi Yossi from Yokrat (Heb.)

Shira Shmidman The Rami bar Hama Narrative of Zevahim 96b: A Contextual Analysis

David Sabato Praying for Rain (sheʾîlat Geshamim) in Israel and Diaspora: Halacha, History and Geography (Heb.)

Oqimta centers on the classical rabbinic corpus (Tannaitic and Amoraic literature), but also welcomes contributions on other aspects of late ancient Jewish culture and history (e.g., piyyut, magical texts, art, inscriptions), as well as on the reception of rabbinic literature in the medieval and modern periods. We believe that the field can be studied productively with a variety of perspectives and methods – philological or historical; employing literary theory, anthropology, or intellectual frameworks through which the field has not yet been explored; focusing on rabbinic texts themselves or working across the different traditions and cultures of antiquity.
Oqimta is an Open Access Journal. All content is freely available, no publication fees are charged.
We accept submissions in Hebrew and English.
