Dear All,

I hope this message meets you well. I am exicited to sharing with you a call for papers of a special issue entitled: Impact of COVID-19 on the Lives of People with Mental Illnesses: Theory, Research and Practice. This special issue will be published at the Community Mental Health Journal.

My colleague, Mark Salzer, Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Director, Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities, College of Public Health, Temple University at Philadelphia and I are serving as guest editors of this issue. We are interested in manuscripts that describe quantitative or qualitative studies from around the world that document how COVID-19 may have impacted the lives of people with significant mental health issues as well as interventions and other steps that have been taken to possibly ameliorate these impacts.

This issue’s topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on community participation and social inclusion of people with SMI;
  • Interventions to increase community participation and social inclusion among people with SMI in the COVID-19 era;
  •  The degree to which different community participation patterns impact the well-being, quality of life and health of people with SMI;
  • Innovative research methods and designs to assess community participations and social inclusion in the COVID-19 era;
  • The role of technology in promoting community participation during the pandemic;
  •  The impact of COVID-19 community participation and social inclusion of people with SMI on their formal and informal caregivers, and
  • Designing and implementing services that would enable the maintenance of community participation and social inclusion in times of health and social crisis.

Please feel free to submit a manuscript and to circulate the CFP among your colleagues: https://www.springer.com/journal/10597/updates/19686466
