RELIGION, ECONOMY, AND VALUE: HISTORIES OF RELIGIOUS FUNDRAISING
We are seeking participants for an international workshop aimed at opening up comparative discussion on religion, economy and value from historical perspectives, with a particular focus on histories of religious fundraising. What can these histories tell us more broadly about economic thinking and conceptions of the social good? We particularly welcome papers from scholars interested in engaging in comparative discussion, and whose work is beyond the organisers’ specialist fields (20th/21st century Tibetan Buddhism; 19th/20th century Irish Catholicism). We will cover travel expenses, meals and accommodation for scholars selected to participate. Deadline for submitting abstracts: 15 September 2018.
