Alfred and Isabel Bader Postdoctoral Fellowship in Jewish History, Queen’s University
The Jewish Studies Program in association with the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Science, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, invites applications for the Alfred and Isabel Bader Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Jewish History. The Fellowship will be awarded to a scholar with a completed PhD who has demonstrated distinction in research in any area of Jewish history and outstanding teaching. The Fellowship will be awarded initially for a one-year term commencing on July 1, 2018, and is renewable for another two years. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two (2) one semester general lecture courses on Jewish history. During the second and third years, the incumbent will teach an additional one semester course in an area of his or her specialization.
The successful candidate will receive a total stipend for research and teaching of approximately $43,000 CAD (plus benefits), in addition to a research and travel allowance of 3,000 CAD. This consists of a Postdoctoral Fellowship, which carries a minimum full-time equivalent salary of no less than $34,600; in addition to the Postdoctoral salary, the incumbent will be separately appointed and compensated as a Term Adjunct to teach two (2) one semester University courses. The Term Adjunct appointment shall be governed by the Queen’s-QUFA collective agreement. While fulfilling the duties of the Term Adjunct appointment, the Postdoctoral Fellow appointment shall be reduced accordingly.
Applicants must have completed a PhD. Previous teaching experience and evidence of scholarly research and publication will be considered an asset.

three letters of reference, one of which addresses teaching experience
any other relevant materials such as a teaching dossier or teaching evaluations.
